H: Harry, senior director in a multinational company


C: Hi, Harry, thanks for your time meeting me this morning.

H: You’re welcome here! Your tea, please!

C: Thank you! Everything is fine with your business?

H: Yeah, I’m tied up with a road-show campaign these two weeks.

C: Oh, yes? What kind of new technology are you releasing now?

H: We’re planning a series of marketing events to several major cities for our newly patented product, a kind of solar water heating system.

C: Your company always takes the lead in the industry. What are the targeted groups to this activity?

H: I’m thinking about it right now, mainly those construction & engineering companies, housing developers, construction suppliers and designers, trading companies, distributors, R&D bodies, local officials, etc. And also partly open to the public.

C: It’s really time-consuming to carry out this project. Do you do it by yourself?

H: No, it’s not possible on our own. We only take charge of masterminding, product presentation, receiving clients and so on. That will keep us on the run for the whole event. We will assign a PR agency to take care of it.

C: About when do you plan to stage the road-show in Shanghai?

H: Possibly in March next year, but not fixed yet.

C: It happens we’ve got an exhibition about water technology in March. Why not take advantage of the occasion, with more exposure to …

H: No, it’s our company policy not to take part in comprehensive fairs, but only do single company promotion.

C: I mean you can stick to your plan, but in case it’s held concurrently with our show, your road-show can cause even more sensational effect against the background of a grand water-related industrial gathering.

H: How much professional audience will attend your show?

C: We expect 30,000 visitors to our show in all, and around 1,000 industrial insiders to attend about 20 conferences and seminars during the event.

H: It sounds interesting. But we have no more budget for your show, as we’ve fixed it for the road-show.

C: You know we offer preferential packages to market leaders. You can make a full use of our advertising resources to produce an all-around marketing result. This is cost-effective for you.

H: Then what benefits can we take from the package?

C: A great many! We have multiple forms for you publicity, such as exhibiting space, large advertising billboard, keynote speech for CEO, media interview, Internet hyperlink, show daily release, and you can choose any forms suitable to you.

H: How much for the package then?

H:可能是明年3月份吧,但还没有正式定下来。

C:正巧我们3月份也要举办一个水处理技术展。何不充分利用这个机会,好好展示一下…

H:那有多少专业观众会参加你们的展会?

C:我们预期将有30000名观众到场,大约有1000名业内人士将在展会期间出席大概20场技术研讨会和交流会。

H:听起来还不错。但是我们没有更多的预算再参加你们的展览了,我们已经确定给巡回展了。
